Hot Rolling: In this process, a solid round billet is heated to a high temperature and then pierced by a piercing machine to form a hollow tube. After that, the tube is further rolled and elongated through various rolling mills to achieve the desired diameter and wall thickness. Hot rolling is suitable for producing large-diameter and thick-walled seamless steel pipes with high production efficiency.
Cold Drawing or Cold Rolling: For seamless steel pipes that require higher precision and better surface quality, cold drawing or cold rolling processes are often used. Cold drawing involves pulling the hot-rolled pipe through a die to reduce its diameter and increase its wall thickness accuracy. Cold rolling is similar but uses a rolling process to achieve more refined dimensional control and a smoother surface finish.
High Strength and Pressure Resistance: Due to its continuous and seamless structure, seamless steel pipes have high mechanical strength and can withstand high internal and external pressures. They are capable of withstanding large amounts of stress and pressure without easily deforming or cracking, making them suitable for applications in high-pressure systems.
Good Sealing Performance: Without seams, these pipes have excellent sealing properties, minimizing the risk of leakage. This is particularly important in applications where the transportation of fluids or gases requires strict leakage prevention, such as in oil and gas pipelines and hydraulic systems.
