Single Orifice Air Release Valve

The single orifice air release valve is a vital component in fluid conveying systems, designed to efficiently remove air and maintain system stability. Engineered with precision, this valve plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various pipelines, from water supply networks to industrial circulation systems.

Structurally, the single orifice air release valve consists of a body, a float, a valve seat, and a single orifice mechanism. Its working principle is based on the buoyancy-driven movement of the float. When a pipeline is being filled with fluid, air accumulates at the highest points where the valve is installed. As the air volume increases, the water level inside the valve drops, causing the float to descend. This movement opens the single orifice, allowing a large volume of air to escape rapidly.

Once the pipeline is fully filled with fluid, the float rises with the rising water level and seals the orifice, preventing fluid leakage. During normal system operation, if small air bubbles accumulate, the float can make minor adjustments to release these tiny air pockets through the single orifice, ensuring the pipeline remains free of air obstructions.

This type of air release valve offers several key advantages. Its single-orifice design simplifies the structure, reducing the potential for mechanical failures and making installation and maintenance straightforward. The valve provides a reliable solution for quickly eliminating air during pipeline filling, significantly shortening the start-up time of the system. By continuously removing air, it effectively prevents issues such as air locks, water hammer effects, and excessive pipeline vibrations, which can cause damage to the pipeline and connected equipment. As a result, it extends the lifespan of the entire pipeline system and reduces maintenance costs.

The single orifice air release valve finds wide applications in various fields. It is commonly used in municipal water supply systems to ensure a steady and air-free water flow to consumers. In industrial settings, it maintains the efficiency of cooling water circulation systems, boiler feedwater systems, and other fluid-based processes. Additionally, it plays an important role in agricultural irrigation systems, helping to optimize water delivery and enhance irrigation efficiency. With its reliable performance, the single orifice air release valve serves as a reliable safeguard for the stable operation of fluid conveying systems.
